About Dr. Alicia Ferriere, PT, DPT, FAFS, PRC

Alicia completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Columbia University. Growing up with a background in dance led her to seek a career in movement and physical medicine. She seeks to treat the body and person as a whole, and prioritizes building relationships to develop a unique plan of care for each patient. Her goal is to educate patients on how to stay physically healthy so they can achieve their personal goals.

Alicia is certified by the Postural Restoration Institute, which seeks to understand the primary factors of postural adaptations, patterns, and kinematic movement dysfunction. She is also recognized as a Fellow of Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute, which utilizes practical, functional assessment and exercise techniques to treat each patient.

Alicia has also become certified to utilize Dry Needling in the state of New Jersey. Dry needling is the use of thin needles to address muscular tightness issues, improve range of motion, improve healing and reduce pain.

Through her previous work with endurance athletes, Alicia began to recognize the significant impact pelvic health can have on performance, recovery, and overall well-being. Seeing a growing need for specialized care in this area inspired her to expand her training and expertise. Since then, Alicia has pursued advanced education in pelvic floor health, prenatal care, and postpartum rehabilitation. She has completed coursework through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and has studied with a variety of birth education professionals.

As a mother of two, Alicia also brings a personal understanding of the physical demands that pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and parenthood can place on the body. She appreciates the importance of staying active and healthy in order to care for her children and fully participate in the activities that matter most. This personal experience, combined with her professional expertise, allows her to connect with patients and support them through every stage of life.

Alicia believes the pelvic floor is an essential part of the body that deserves the same attention and care as any other musculoskeletal system. Her goal is to help individuals restore function, build confidence, and maintain active, healthy lifestyles through personalized, evidence-based care.

She currently stays active with a variety of activities from running, to strength training, to yoga, and is always willing to try something new. As an active person, she understands the drive to return from injury efficiently with an understanding of how to stay healthy.

Alicia has been featured in fitness magazines such as Women’s Health Magazine, Dance Magazine, and the Daily Burn.
